THE MIGHTY KBC 6095 kHz SW AM Rocking into my speakers! |

Heard the mighty KBC a short while ago for the first time! Quite a shock to hear pop music and an English speaking DJ on 49M short wave!
Equipment used is a very small 2x valve portable SW radio as seen in the awful camerfone photo I just took and uploaded. We're away at the moment and I slipped this in my luggage to listen to SW if I felt the urge.
As featured in Practical Wireless magazine in 2016, this radio uses 2x 1T4 battery valves, with 18volts HT (2x PP3 batteries) and a 1.5V filament battery. Aerial was a 1M length of wire. 5/9 reception too. i.e. excellent! |

Had to take apart my radio shack and replace my JRC NRD-515 and my outdoor longwire antenna with an Elad FDM-S2 SDR and a tiny 12" window antenna. But I can still pull-in the Might KBC! Here's last week's photo on 6145. |

Dusty Springfield was one of my favorite artists growing up. Visited Henley-On-Thames last October and took this picture. Thanks Dave Mason for playing one of her songs last Saturday. |
