Antenna 5 and transmitter building. On the right you see a landmark from old times. It is a piece of a Coax Balun left over when the antenna was in use by Radio Berlin International from the German Democratic Republic. The transmitter then was in a building on the right of the Balun. That building has been demolished.

Spare tubes for Transmitter 5 (6095 kHz). It is a TH555A that is capable of generating an output power of 200 kW. However in transmitter 5 it is used at a maximum power of 100 kW resulting in an extra long lifetime for the tube.

The photo says it all: S9+20dB - S9+40dB (slight QRM), Radio 5 with an Icom IC-735 and a 7.5m vertical dipole here in Detmold. Great program too...

I heart KBC Radio Sunday of 6095 kHz with the Eastern Germany (RFT) Receiver EKD300 and Betriebsempfänger BE1340.21 with 22 Tubes from 1968. Very strong signal here.
