Dean Alexander - Live a little. New artists come and new artists go all the time, but there are certain raw qualities that one carries with them so that when they are introduced they create a buzz that dubs them as an “artist to watch.” That is the case for Dean Alexander and his new single “Live A Little.” The song catches your attention from the start as the backing vocals singing “live a little” and make it pop at you from the get go. Very cleverly, these 3 words are scattered throughout the song giving this a unique vibe upon the first listen that leaves you singing it all day long. Alexander allows the feel good groove of the melody to carry him through the positive lyrics like “we got a dream, got a wish, all we got to do is stop wasting time” or “if there’s a top to pop, a party to rock, you’re the only one slowing you down.” As you progress through the tune you are met with the realistic truth that whether it’s something as simple as talking to the girl at the bar or something more complex like chasing after your dreams; going for it is the key. As he rolls into the final chorus, you can visualize a stadium full of people swaying their arms in the air at the shows which makes this a great feel good song for the summertime, but it’s really a perfect one for all year round to give us that shot of much needed inspiration that we all need from time to time.
